America Outdoors ~ The Last Day

Farewell, America Outdoors

Here's to you, America Outdoors, Farewell dear friend. In winter you held us in your sunny arms while soft ocean breezes blew. We watched the birds fly about in your beautiful green trees. Your flowers gave us joy.

We knew you when your roads were still sandy trails. Good things don't last forever and you have been the best. But your warm bay waters cannot heal our broken hearts.

You have given us lifetime friendships and a place to rest in your island jungle. Thank you America Outdoors for all the bingo games, potluck dinners, volleyball and scrabble tournaments, hotdog roasts, sing-along's and long lazy afternoons on the beach.

Nowhere will sunset ever be so beautiful. Thank you for a place to launch our ships of hope for the future.

America Outdoors, you will always be our sunshine. Goodbye dear friend.

"Our final day here was MUCH more enjoyable than expected. Many friends sharing a meal, Champagne toast to the sunset and absent friends. Only regret is that those AO'rs that weren't here could have shared it with us.

Looking forward to seeing y'all in the future."
